I have a new fresh face for my Etsy shop and it is my beautiful daughter Tanya. She is perfect for my vintage clothes. She loves vintage clothes as much as I do and she is a perfect size 4. I do sell a lot of clothes in larger sizes too. I am now taking her on my shopping trips so she gives me great advice on what vintage style is trending now. The only thing is she loved this dress so much she took it home with her along with my jewelery after the photo shoot ! That’s okay what are mothers for ? Check out our Etsy shop for great fall and winter vintage dresses !
I have been shopping for summer hats and bags lately and I have a nice collection now. The big one on the left is my new farmer’s market bag. The bag on the far right is vintage and made out of paper. My favorite is this vintage 1970’s straw bag . The inside is a pretty soft blue and the outside reminds me of the beach. Simply pretty and perfect with faded jeans.
Enjoy your day.
Moving my shop space to a new location has been a big project. I decided to down size and make my space a little more rustic. Here is a before picture of the space I have to work with. Very shabby with tall ceilings and well very rustic.
Most people didn’t like this space, but I had a vision. I added the lights from my last space and brought in some shabby chic signs and frames. A few of the bulbs were out, but I really liked how much it changed the look.
I white wash the existing cabinet , and brought in a few items. The Flower market sign sold as soon as I brought it in so I had to make a another one, so I made a witchery, spells & potions sign, and brought in my other vintage items.
This is just a start, I will be completely moved in by the 1st of September . This space is very shabby, unique and rustic, but that’s what sells here in old town .
I think I will remove the doors and add some burlap to the shelves. The new location is at Vintage Vendetta, 126 B. Main Street, Lake Elsinore, Ca. 92530. They have very ECLECTIC vintage furniture & decor here, come by and say hi to John and Fab !
Next post how to make a sign look rustic & aged…
have a fun week !
My simple French tea started out with my dress form dressed for the occasion with a black corset and a white tutu with a black top hat. Maybe a little over the top but why not, it’s time for me to let my inner fun side out ! I wore my french skirt with my simple black top. Maria wore her french black and white tee with red pants and a little french hat. The banner was easy to make because I bought the flags from Micheal’s and just spray painted the letters black . I used my mismatched silver and my mic-matched white china cups for the tea. I hand stenciled numbers on my white plates. And I used a chandelier stamp for my napkins and for my menu cards.
cucumber sandwiches with fresh dill and cream cheese
crackers with lavender jelly
hot spiced tea with lavender sugar
pineapple cake with cream cheese frosting
The Tea was a success and we loved serving tea and talking to all the ladies who came by. I was asked for my cake recipe. I used a store-bought mix and added pineapple juice (instead of water ) and chucks to the cake batter. For the frosting I used 1 stick of butter and 1 package of cream cheese at room temperature. Then I added 1 cup of powdered sugar and blended well. I garnished the top with pineapple chucks.
A simple but fun tea, have a great week.
Some new items I have added to my Boutique…
Vintage needle point pillows and a French Market chalkboard.
A linen dress form dressed with burlap and a paper brooch.
Old salvaged wood I found, I added some crown hardware. Makes a great candle display ! Vintage shudders.
Lot’s of vintage inspired paper items.
French garden inspired watering cans, floras and a silver crown. Garden greenhouses. A larger burlap and black rod ion screen. Covers up a back door !
I tag all items with a large kraft tag, and I use white ink.
And lots of burlap wrapped spring floras. It’s hard replacing item that sell out over the weekend. I sold an old wine barrel , but I had so many items on it , I miss it all ready !
” The Paper Mystique ” will be hosting a full spring tea at ” Maria’s Antiques ” in Old town Lake Elsinore, Sat April 6th, come and join us !
Location 138 N. Main Street, Lake Elsinore, Calif.
These are the cards I have created for my Paper Boutique. They are simple , pretty and for Valentine’s Day.
I used kraft paper cards, with my black & white photography, and some simple white hearts. I use the courier font for all my cards, as I use my vintage type writer.
I like to embellish my cards with small details like a paper clip or small cutout .
The Paper Mystique cards , by Sacred Cheryl…
And some simple words by “The Beatles”…
” All you need is Love, Love is all you need.”
Having a studio and boutique is a work in progress. I change my mind daily on props and displays. I have a nice industrial desk with my vintage type writer, and vintage cameras. I do a lot of my photo cards here . I still don’t have a place in my studio where I can shoot photography ,but I love to shoot right outside in Old town.
I have all kinds of books from cook books to wedding books, and a few of my custom photography books.
I have my photo props such as angle wings, hats and vintage suitcases through-out the boutique.
This cute loft has a black and white checked floor which I love and old white stone walls , so I did not have to do anything to this space before I moved in. Except hang the lights on all the walls.
I love the old French garden style, so I have added some garden inspired items. I bought this vintage urn and pick up some silk flowers and tied a burlap ribbon around them. The water can is an antique from holland.
I decided I would make the white feathered angle wings my boutique logo, maybe I will have some store cards made up. I am now in the process of hanging some of my photographs on the wall. Still a work in progress but it’s a start !
I love old books and jewelry. I have always wanted to make these mini books necklaces I have seen on pinterest . Something you would find at an old enchanting conservatory, left by the fairy’s of course. I used old book ends and old book pages to create this little master piece.
I found this pendent from hobby lobby which I liked cause it give my piece a Renaissance look.
I attached my piece on a simple black ribbon with a clasp.
I used a sheer ribbon to tie the book together.
And when you open my little book , you will find a stamped Renaissance heart on the old pages.
The perfect gift for Valentines Day, I will be selling these one of a kind, mini book necklaces at “The Paper Mystique.
Have an enchanting weekend.
I will be hosting a Christmas tea at “The Paper Mystique,” this Sat Dec. 15th 11am to 3pm. At Old town Lake Elsinore, at Maria’s Antiques.
I decided to use grays and creams , and a touch of red. I also have made 22 cup & 12 cup tag bags of my Winter Blend, that will be available for purchase. This gray creamer and sugar was a gift from Tanya last Christmas, from Anthropologies.
The teacup was a find from my local Antique Mall. All our Christmas will be on sale. Should be a fun event…
hope you have an enchanting weekend !
xoxo Sacred Cheryl
